How can I schedule employee emails locally in Outlook desktop? (non-365 version)

Local Email Scheduling is a feature that is available, by request, for users of the Bananatag Add-In for Outlook on desktop. For those using Outlook 365 or Gmail to send, Email Scheduling is built-in to the latest version of our Outlook Add-In and Gmail Extension.

Local Email Scheduling uses Outlook’s Delayed Send feature to schedule your outgoing employee emails, and has a few specific workflow requirements, detailed below.

Please contact your Account Manager to get set up with this feature.

Important considerations

There are a number of important caveats with this method of scheduling emails, primarily because this relies on Outlook’s Delayed Send functionality.

Outlook must be opened at the time the message is sent

Microsoft’s Delayed Send documentation recommends scheduling your message, and keeping Outlook open until the message is sent.

If Outlook closed during the time when drafts are scheduled to be sent, they will be sent at the same time when the user opens Outlook next.

Email drafts are scheduled locally only

As this method of scheduling uses Outlook’s Delayed Send feature, email drafts that are scheduled locally are only scheduled to be sent on a given user’s computer and instance of Outlook. Emails that have been scheduled locally in Outlook will not show as having been scheduled on

Email drafts that are scheduled locally can be updated on

When a locally scheduled email draft is about to be sent, the Outlook Add-In will get the latest version of the draft from Any changes made and saved in the Email Designer on will be fetched before sending.
