Using the Tracking Method

This is a legacy feature

Although this feature is still functional, we recommend users set up their mail clients with our SMTP Relay Tracking method.

Tracking an email using the method is simple, and is supported by all email clients.

To track an email message, simply add to the end of the recipient's email address, for example – that's it!

Your email will be tracked and sent, and the added to the email address will be removed once the email reaches your recipient's inbox

This sending method only supports sending to a single recipient.

Due to this restriction, you are unable to have multiple recipients, even if they are in the CC or BCC fields.

Also note that sending one email to a recipient with the extension and another recipient without the extension in the same email will cause the delivery to the recipient to be rejected. (The other user will get the email.) If that recipient replies to all, then their message to the address with the extension will be rejected, unless they have a Bananatag account.

If you’d like to track emails without these restrictions, please use our Browser Extension for Gmail or our Outlook add-in, or set up your client through the SMTP Relay feature.
